Hi, jas anyone used one of the wake up alarms/ dawn simulators? I have been thinking about getting one as I find it difficult to get out of bed with the dark mornings. If anyone has used one and can recommend one I would be most grateful.

Not sure if it is any good but it looks interesting!!!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
I have one and I do think it's good, you don't waken with the pounding in your ears that you would with an ordinary alarm. My only real beef with it is that it's very hard to know what time to set it for - sometimes I waken the minute it starts to light up, other times not until the little chirping alarm comes on right at the end of the cycle. I guess though this depends on how deeply asleep I was so if I sleep the bit longer I needed it. It does make it harder to judge what time to set it for though. And alas it doesn't get my lardy a** out of bed for me  which is what I need at the minute...0

Hi
I've used a basic lumie light alarm clock for 3 years and it has helped with getting up on dark mornings, I used to be so fast asleep when the alarm woke me with a massive jolt I felt like I'd been woken up in the middle of the night (and grumpy - you didn't want to be anywhere near me:o !)
You will find that it slowly starts to light up about 30 mins before the alarm goes off, so you'll often be almost awake when the alarm goes, much more civilised.
I got mine online from Boots (it was in the sale for around £35) the cheapest is normally £50. If you struggle in the mornings try it, if you don't get on sell it on ebay - they often go for around the rrp anyway!
Good luck0 -
I've got one of the original SAD dawn simulators - I've had it for over 10 years and it's rather old-fashioned in design compared to the new ones.
However, I would THOROUGHLY recommend as it is the most gentle way in the world to wake up and the light is not harsh.
As lainz says, you can always re-sell, so I'd get looking for one in the sales ASAP!

ps -I think mine came from a company called 'Inside Out' - you might be able to Google them0 -
