    I suspect a misprice at one branch - not even as a lossleader would they put out a price like this

    What's the date code on them? It might just be that your branch has a lot of short coded ones they need to clear asap.

    BTW, anyone remember the Great Baked Bean price war a few years back when you could buy beans at 1p a tin?

    That must have been *quite* a few years back the 1p/tin (kicked off by the arrival of Aldi in the UK).

    I bought loads of them when I moved house (mid/late 90's) as they made an excellent base for keeping freshly painted items a few inches off the ground so they wouldn't stick to the dust sheets!

    Still have them stacked up in my understairs cupboard albeit now covered in paint drips just in case the cold war ever starts ;)
