    Seems fine to me, they take you to MS to download
  • Perfectly legal - loads of free downloads from Microsoft if you look around. They charge premiums for things like the OS and Office etc, but these are downloads to work with the software you have bought from them, a lot of them are extensions of the original software.

  • These are small programs created by Microsoft developers as tests etc, and thus some software is only temporary or out of date, which have become popular and thus are available as free downloads. There is a legal connection to the Microsoft site, rather than on a third party which maybe illegal. Note, just tried the pasta theme, and the link has gone now (2006 !)

    Are the programs in the link all latest versions?

    I'm confused because I was thinking to update my version of Windows Movie Maker, and on the above link it is version 2.1, and on my vista laptop (1 year old) it is version 6.something.
