This is the cheapest juicer that got a 'best buy' in the recent (Aug '06) Which? test:

I have the Magimix Duo -

Great quality, well built and good results. OK not cheap but more likely to last0 -
Cheap juicer from Lidl works ok!I'm mad!!!! :rotfl::jand celebrating everyday every year!!!0

I use the Jack La Lane power juicer and think its brilliant. You can stick whole apples in without chopping, it's easy to clean and extremely quiet. Before this juicer we had a Breville unit which was £30 cheaper, much noisier and prone to leaking out of the sides.0

I have a "Jack" too. Didn't want to pay the silly money they are going for on the shopping channels, so bought a 2nd hand one on ebay from a local seller, so could pick it up and save the postage as it's really heavy. If you don't get on with it, I am sure you could relist it and get your money back.
Works really good, my 4 year old loves using it and guzzles the juice down.:hello:0 -
yep i too have a jack juicer infact we have two lol , my boyfriend bought one via a shopping channel completly forgot about it then got one from ebay - bless0

janeawej wrote:I am looking to buy a juicer as DD2 is realy into her juice which is costing me a fortune! does anyone have any sugestions of which one? the one in Lakeland looks good breville, and all the reviews seem to be good but it is a bit pricey
I would be realy gratefull for any advice, thanks Jane
Good luck whatever you choose. I don't think that getting a juicer will reduce your costs though. Juicing often works out more expensive than buying fresh juice (unless you're buying the really expensive stuff).

I dont find I have to use too much fruit. This depends on what juicer you are using and the fact that you have to put the veg through slowly. The cheaper machines are great to start off with as IMO people get sick of cleaning the machine etc and stop juicing. However these machines are pretty poor in the fact that there is too much waste and it is very wet which means you are losing a lot of the fruit and paying more.
However a tried and tested juicer and one that never needs to be advertised but does cost around £250 is the champion juicer which is a very heavy item that has to be left on the worktop, very easy to clean and more improtantly the waste is minimal and very dry thus saving money in fruit and veg costs. My Shop Is Your Shop0
