thanks have now been looking at a whirlpool one that rated good in a which report..............however being completely money saving I may just keep my very very old second hand one and open the door and window when using it..not ideal but I dont really use the tumble dryer a huge amount. Will put the money into an account for when it goes wrong!
AGGGGG mine is Whirlpool:eek:0 -
Check out Kitchen Science, that is where I ended up getting my condensor tumble dryer from.

I have a hotpoint condensor, have had it 5 years and had to replace one small part which we got from ebay, cost around £6.00 to fix. I went for a condensor as it was easier in our small kitchen with no room for a vent. It was next to the fridge freezer and managed to defrost the freezer for me, guess it was a bit silly of me to put them together but that was the only gap left. The kitchen turned into a sauna each time I used it so we moved it to an outside cupboard where it can tumble away with no problems. It is rather noisy but can tumble a full load of heavy washing in around 2 hours, I have never needed to tumble anything for longer than that. The drawer is handy at the top and the filter is easy to clean. Even with a few problems, I would not be without it.0

Don't know if it's any good - but I have seen plastic tubs that you connect to ordinary dryers to convert them into condensors
This is an example http://www.kaleidoscope.co.uk/Tumble-Dryer-Condenser-Box/productdisplay.stm?LP=Search&An=681&Ntt=condensor&A=51K390%5F&N=0&Nty=1&Au=P%5FMasterItem&Nu=P%5FMasterItem&Ntx=mode%2Bmatchallany&Ns=P%5FColour%7C0%7C%7CP%5FSize%7C0&Ntk=PRIMARY
Never used them myself as I will not use a tumble dryer. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
i have got a bosch one that is a sensor dryer as well, it was about £285 though so over your busget, unless you can save a bit more.
I had a hotpoint one before that was awful took an age to dry all the time. At least with the bosch i turn it on, and it tells me when it is finished usually about 1 hour, unlike hotpoint where it was taking 2+ hours to dry everything.0 -
Never had a problem with Beko at all.0

I've had combined washer dryers for years and they have all been the condensor type. Although it isn't the same thing as in the OP I would echo some of the other posts and say don't touch Hotpoint with a bargepole.
It is the worst machine I have ever had, the repair man is so used to coming out now that we swap books with each other all the time. It is inefficient, incredibly noisy and unreliable.
Previously I have had just about every other make going, Bosch was my favourite but the drum size was smaller than average.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I have had both types of dryers and wouldn't have another condenser dryer for the reasons already said about length of time for drying clothes.
I have a vented one but just put the hose out of the window when using it and don't have a problem with steaming up.
The only time I had a problem was because the hose had come off the dryer underneath.0
