Redundancy advice?

Hello, I am in a pretty confused (and emotional) state right now. I have been made redundant from high street shop which closes its doors tomorrow after going into liquidation. I have been offered a new job with a completely different company (on a part time basis) my previous job was full time. Anyways, I informed my exsisting workplace of my new job, and I negociated that I would carry on working for them until the store closes, tomorrow, and was told that my new job wouldn't effect my entitlement to redudancy pay. However, due to hear say, I was informed that I might not be entitled to any redundancy pay because I have found a new job.
So, my question is, because I have found a new job will this affect my entitlement to redundancy, bearing in mind that I am working for the company, until the store closes, as is the rest of the staff in the shop???
Many thanks.

Take no notice, as you say it was hearsay and a load of rubbish. Your new job will not affect your redundancy payment in anyway. The only way it would affect it is if the company you worked for is offering you this new job which would mean that you are not redundant with that company.
Sorry you and thousands of others (i am making a presumption here) lost their jobs and good luck in your new one. Stop worrying, you'll be finemake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Just make sure you don't give them a letter resigning from your position - they must dismiss you.0
