Help Needed - HSBC Loan

Hi,

This is my first post on MSE but I have been reading avidly for a long time, however I need some advice.

I have a loan with HSBC which due to some financial issues accrued two months arrears, I paid these on the 20th of December by debit card and all was well, however since then I have been hounded by the collections team for the arrears, what appears to have happened is that they have returned half of the debit card payment. I have since made a further two debit card payments to bring the account up to date however they rejected one as they said the transaction failed but the money has not returned to my account, also the first returned payment has failed to arrive back in my account.

Having spend an age on the phone to them trying to find out where my money is I have been told to wait until monday and 'see' if it turns up. Is there anything I can do about this in terms of complaints as I am not happy that they appear to have lost both these payments and are not being helpful in trying to find out where they have gone?

Thanks
