3rd Lightbulb moment as im still not debt free!

Ive been in the same situation for a while now having no money to pay bills and get out of debt!

Im really going to give it a go in 2009 and get myself out of debt and hopefully not owe anything to anyone by 2010!

Am currently in around 10k debt on ccs, missed phone bills, insurance for van, advertising, family etc.

What should be my 1st targets to get debt free?

Help!

And crack open a (cheap) can of beer or cider whilst you are doing it!! Do you have any idea why you are 'relapsing'? You really need to look at this, and work out what you think you can do differently this time.

a good place to start is NOT buying a spending diary, you must have a note book lying around your place, if you're anything like me you've loads. Either that or use a program on your 'puter to make a list and keep track, most come with Works at the least so you should be able to find a way.

Well done for coming here though and for deciding to tackle this head on. Good look with the SOA

  • you seem to be self employed ? what do you do? so we can advise on ways to look at making more dosh ? or if you might have to look at adding a new string to your bow

Your SOA is quite hard to read - can you move it over onto the one linked at the top of the page (this one! - http://www.makesenseofcards.com/soacalc.html :) )

You're obviously self-employed - what do you do?

You say you owe rent etc to your mum - do you still live with your parents? If so, do you not pay anything for Council Tax, water, tv, gas, electiricity etc?

The family members you mention who you owe money too - do they know the position you're in just now? Are they happy to wait for you to pay them back? Because obviously these are the lowest priority for you to pay off as they have no interest being added.

Well done for posting again, I'm sure there'll be loads of folks along with more helpful suggestions! :)

  • Try spendingdiary.com instead of a notebook - I use it and it's great for breaking down your spending into categories
