Worried a bit about Moongers, but decided you should have the benefit of the doubt.

Ah yes feeling rather smug that I didn't go into equities in a large way earlier this year. Looking forward to upgrading our house when the full effects of the credit crunch and economic downturn hit the housing market as they inevitably will. Hoping that the worst is over for the equities I have. Got a bottle of wine to finish drinking later with OH.

Many thanks to everyone for many interesting, informative and funny contributions here.

It is a bit rich for a doom mongerer to wish everyone a happy New Year. So perhaps I should wish everyone here a successful New Year in living through such adversity (GB says that it is character building) as the downturn throws at them.

Ah yes but large TVs aren't the OHs thing, she says they are too large for our living room. What I should do is go out and spend cash on a powerful Merc (someone will say it should be a Jaguar), but I have become rather scrooge like in mid life.
  • I'll be searching ebay for automatic rifles and boarding my doors and windows up.

Just leaving a hatch for Asda deliveries :D

Well I've done my fair share of revelling in years past so I'll be partly playing Westward 3 which has just been released and partly chatting to friends online. Wish we all lived a bit closer but t'internet is the next best thing. :)

Christmas Eve party I called in at, to collect a relative, also had a load of BTL-women in their 40s and 50s. Property-club members of some type, friends who had piled in together, and definitely amateurs who've jumped on the BTL wagon late.

Seemed to be some new investment property set to open. Don't know about their financing positions, and they really seemed oblivious to the crash, but someone whipped them up in to a frenzy at the thought of tenants who will be renting from them. **shudder**

If going out means I have to risk that experience again, I'm staying in. (Although we are risking going to our local club though for an hour at 10:00, then home to keep dooming.)

Good man. Treat yourself to a bit of stock pilled rice when you get in.
