Iwinmitchell Solicitors HELP

I'm after some help guys, i have received several letters from Intrum Justitia for an overdue debt of £69.48 to Paypal. I have disputed this debt from the very start because some very horrible person on ebay ripped be off and disputed via paypal and received their money back. I received an email from the buyer saying they had received their item, and very happy with it, however silly me deleted the email and a few days later they contacted paypal and started an investigation saying they hadn't received their item
This is not a recent dispute, been going on for a few years now, but then it went quiet with Intrum, so i just assumed they had seen sense and given up chasing me for payment, knowing full well i wasn't paying for my own item. I have now received several letters from Intrum in the last month, and received a letter from Irwinmitchell solicitors saying if i don't pay immediately they will start legal proceedings, and any additional fees will be payable by me.
I obviously want to continue to fight this because its totally unfair, but i don't want to have to in the long run pay a lot more than £69 for legal fees etc.
Any ideas what i should do guys?
Many thanks in avdance,
xx
