Hi. I have just found some amazing deals on external hard drives.
PC World - £68.48 online price only, free reserve and collect in store.

I suspect the MyBook is the better drive. It comes with backup software and originally it costs a lot more than the Elements drive.
Hope that helps someone!

Those are great prices - think I'll hold out for a 2 TB drive for around the £150 mark though - you can never have enough storage...0 -
Great find. Thanks, went for the My Book.
Was even thinking about getting 2, but thought better of it what with prices of external HDDs continually tumbling.

The comet one actually contains 2 500Gb hard drives, hence the RAID capability. Reviews on Amazon (US) do state it is noisy.Hug provider for depression thread :grouphug:

These have been mentioned on MSE and Hotdeals since the end of last week, so the chances of there being any left are slim! (It is the 'hottest' deal of the week on Hotdeals with a temperature of 1489 degrees right now!)

We have just got a buffalo HD-CEU2 1TB from Amazon, cost an extra £10 but much better reviews and free delivery, arrived within 48 hours, maybe worth a try for those who cant get hold of anything else0

Well mine doesn't and isn't.

I picked up the last one from Aintree Comet on Boxing Day, but they were back in stock again quickly. My dad picked one up yesterday.
So keep checking online and you may get lucky. :money:
NB The drives are both formatted FAT32. It took app. 4.5 hours to reformat (NTFS) the WD Elements 1TB (PC World) drive. (I bought both units mentioned.) Once formatted you get app 930GB of storage.0 -
HI Guys
Re previous post concerning the Buffalo HD-CEU2 Drivestation bought from amazon, very easy install and comes with full version of Memeo Backup. I believe that the WD Mybook essential only has a trial version.0
