£100 a month misc challange!

Right been working out new revised budget and have split into seprate categories.

rent
energy bills
phone both landline and mobiles
sky basic package+broadband

Trying to keep to £200 a month food which should include household and toilitries and have worked out debt repayments which ideally should leave
£100 misc budget £25 a week.

Things covered by my misc are

bus fare
days out
newspaper at shop.
any odd drink/chocolate brought from shop
meals out odd cheap weatherspoons meal with mate our local italian does 4.99 lunchtime special
taking daughter swimming
daughters ballet lessons
very rare trip 2 cinema

Ideally need to stop top up corner shop trips or include that amount spent within grocery budget.

But its amazing how me and oh waste money on random things little amounst here and there dread to think what he spends on pop from garage although he does take packed lunch to work which comes out of grocery budget.

So im determined we both got £100 misc to use wisly as everything else needs to be committed to debts and bills.

Anyone else want to join me in cutting back the extras? As they all add up

I guess gifts could be included in this although im setting up extra xmas savings fund.

  • Good luck with it!

I'd love to join in but don't have that to cut back with, lol.

We do £10 a day which does all the miscellaneous stuff and groceries.
  • Do a spending diary. Get a notebook and everytime you want to buy something on impulse you have to write it down.
So you go into the newsagent to buy a drink. Get your book out and write Newsagent, coke, 65p by the time you have done that and got stares from the shop worker you'll realise you don't want the drink after all.

Good luck, I also do not carry any cash. I have to use my debit card for everything. Some shops won't let you use a card unless you spend over £5 s that stops me from spending.
