WHAT? WHAT!???? All this 'show' did was induce panic and unease.
In this show a mother and daughter had run up huge credit card bills.
yet when i tuned in. the first thing i saw was a locksmith letting two bailiffs into the house whilst the owners where out!
WHAT!??? I thought they could'nt do that for CC debts? just if you owed to government or council etc?
This show has basically gone against alot I've read on here.
Is this show authentic in it's depiction and facts, or is it just loosely put together scare mongering with good intentions at heart?

There does come a point where bailifs can forcibly sieze goods for any debt, but you have to seriously ignore the problem for a very long time and ignore multiple court summons and then not cooperate with the bailifs once they have the relavent court paperwork. I didn't see the programme but they should have made all that very clear. Anyone who faces up to their problems should never get to this stage.

It would be a really boring show just whatching someone open Red letters.A case of beer has 24 cans. There are 24 hours in a day...............Coincidence?0

in the show the balidd sent a demand for payment in full within 7 days by post, then when she was in enetered the premises and levied distress ( listed all goods and took ownership whilst leaving goods there) then when payment had not been made within 7 days he got lockmsith to let him in and took possession of gooods...is this not right?0

I have just made a complaint to the BBC about this programme - it is rubbish if it was giving out useful information to people that would be something but this is just sensational cr*p. On todays programme it would appear baliffs are allowed take your sofa!! this is not true but scared and frightened people at home watching this don't know this - it also does not make clear that unless you let baliffs in or they get in the through an open door or window they have no right of entry and they certainly CANNOT ask a locksmith to break in. Also some of the items they took were worthless and in a real situation baliffs would not touch them.
I understand the point they are trying to make is sort out your debts don't bury your head in the sand but I do not pay the bbc their licence fee to make this cr*p0 -
Agree with everything thats been said above, it made me laugh some of the worthless tat they were taing just to strip the house bare, the whole attitude of the programme stinks, especially that of the presenter, the condescending tone and jokes about how much debt they the participants are in, shows its not a serious look at debt and its consequences.
But the programme yesterday, with the mother and daughter combo, I dont think the daughter wanted help.........going to stop before I go off on a rant!I want to take on capitalism, but cant get the day off work....0 -
This mornings was just as bad, there was no real help or advice given, just the shock factor of what could happen. The woman admitted she was addicted to getting her hair done, why just tell her it had to stop, that is just going to make her need more comfort shopping. Why not show her how she could get it done cheaper.
Sorry but I prefer Spendaholics at least that goes into some detail of how to adjust your whole lifestyle.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things
