£9 Travelodge Rooms - Cheap Summer Break

Hi All, I know that we are all on a DFW mission and my resolution is to spend as little as possible this year but I know I will only stick to it if I have something to look forward to! The idea of 3 years without a break is a recipe for disaster for me and the offer on Travelodge rooms at the moment is a great opportunity to put a break in for the sumer to look forward to.
I've booked 2 nights x 2 family rooms for 5 of us near Tenby in mid August for £7.60 per person per night. We can live cheaply from a Travelodge room - it's basic but just a base really. We can have two lovely days on the beach and feel as though we have had the sand between our toes at least once in the year. Travelodge have a £9 per room offer on so it can be as cheap as £4.50 per night for 2 people sharing a room.
Feeling a bit guilty having committed to spend nothing we don't need to but can't face a year with no treats at all - and the kids also need a bit of a let up from my 'we are on a budget' mantra!
Hope that you can use the info if you haven't already seen the deal. Just go to travelodge.co.uk and click on £9 summer sale.

Even bankrupts are allowed a cheap holiday in their SOA, so go and enjoy it. If you arrive early and leave late, you can have a 4 day break for very little. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Website currently broke as whole of MSE descends, getting server busy lol.Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0

A great tip I got from another MSE'er, go and book via your computer at http://www.travelodge.co.uk/mobile/ and you get through first time.
It's ideal if you know the area/date you want to stay at.
I have managed to get a break in Brighton and the North West booked for dirt cheap so very happy about that

Hi
I used this system and each time I tried to book it rejected my debit card and credit card.It came back with an error message each time.
Now I see that the bank tell me that payments were accepted.Meaning I have paid for over 30 rooms we don't want.I still need to speak to my credit card company.
My bank is now applying their debit fees and I have now transferred cash into my account but this will take time to sort.
At now stage did an email confirmation booking or text arrive to confirm the bookings.0 -
That's awful! It has happened to me in the past where the site keeps crashing when the card details are entered. I'm off to look at my credit card bills to see if mulitple payments were taken. It hadn't occurred to me that they would do that. Thanks for the warning.

Everyone you must check your bank and credit cards now.
If you have booked and got the email return then I'm sure you are fine but I kept getting a refused payment at checkout via the mobile site.0 -
Mine went through no problem but when the website or any website crashes you never really know. Think I will check my bank anyway to make sure the right amount has come out.
One before I was trying to book a room (not a cheap one, a normal priced one where you pay on the day you arrive) and it didn't appear to work, and no confirmation email came through. I tried again and it went through ok. But the original booking had gone through, despite no confirmation arriving, and they charged me for a no show (even though I was there, under the other booking). When I saw what had happened and complained it was a website problem, they got their IT department to check and they said that the website had indeed been experiencing problems at that time, and refunded me the money.0 -
I hope they honour the bookings we want and return the remaining overcharge of about
£1300+
