damm missed delivery's

Hi All,
I’ve had a bit of an idea that I would like some feedback on.
Recently I have found myself getting frustrated by missed parcel deliveries. I know that 99% of the time whenever I order anything online I’m going to miss the delivery as I work mon-fri 9-5 so I then have to go to the depot and pick the parcel up even then some depots close before I can get to them.
My idea is to setup a mini depot where people, who know they are going to miss deliveries, would have their parcels sent to. I would then, for a small fee, deliver the parcels in the evening at a time more convenient time or place.
Initially I would only do my county but I demand was there then maybe expand.
So, what do you guys think?
What is a reasonable price to charge for this? Can you think of any issues that might effect this?
Many thanks for any feedback.
Kevin.

great idea-i work shifts and still miss my parcels!
think a quid/quid fifty is really all you could expect-the original buyer would have to pay this over and above standard delivery.
at least if your county is small, you would probably still make a bit,.
possibly not in the interests of the couriers who may well decline your proposalThe word is BOUGHT, not BROUGHT.

The local Post Offices take parcels in for, I think 50 pence each, so they can be collected by the owner later.0

...I get everything delivered to my work address!
I am on first name terms with the Ladies in the Post Room now. They phone me when some-thing comes in.
Had a laugh when some glasses arrived from Pakistan packed in a rigid, squared little box stitched neatly into a linen sack. The Ladies weren't sure and carried it over quite reverendly - thought it was the ashes of a relative or something! Me joining in by taking off my hat with a long, po-face didn't help.
They weren't smiling when I hacked open the sack with my penknife and started to open the "casket". They saw the funny side when I wiped out the specs and showed them off...

If you work mon-fri 9-5 and miss your own deliveries how are you going to be there to accept everyone elses parcels?:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0

Tee hee. mines almost next door, about 20 houses away0 -
Royal mail parcels aren't too bad because the sorting offices are all over the country. I once had an ebay seller send me a parcel via some courier company I'd never heard of. I work during the week (as do my neighbours) and they didn't do weekend deliveries. So, I had to go to their depot which was a 45 minute journey away. I was not happy!0

It's an interesting idea, but I just wonder how many customers you would get. You would presumably only get customers from the area near to your depot, anyone further away than that would presumably find that their local sorting office is nearer.0
