    Floxxie - Thanks a lot

I wish I was busy "earning". We have had another round of redundancies in the company though not in my department so quite a lot of people have left. But as the work hasn't reduced, everyone who is left has to work more than usual to meet deadlines even though Overtime won't be paid . Though we can take holidays in lieu of the extra work done.

Most of my friends have resigned and now the place just doesn't feel the same. DH thinks I should switch jobs but as I suffer from interview phobia, I am very stressed due to this and just not been able to make my mind.

On the positive side, I am debt free so can take a chance with a new job if things go really bad.:T

Queen-Bee, Thanks though now I am being termed as being "Tight" in my family. Who knows what would happen if I tell them that we will soon be mortgage free.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Wantabetterlife and setmefree2,

Thanks very much. I know I haven't been regular in my updates but things just haven't been great for the last few months. Hopefully I would soon decide what I want to do at the job front and will be back on track

I am sorry, I haven't read anyone else's diary for a long time. But hope everyone is doing great .. :A:A:A:A:A

    Take care

    Hello all,

Hope everybody is doing good and well on track to be MF...

I am very late with June's update mainly because I have started looking for another job so these days preparing for the interview and also things at work have been very busy so I had been working the last couple of weekends.

Doing it now so will update soon. On the financial front, things have been fine - No unexpected spends so all is good.

DH has got some bonus with June's salary but that will be in July update.

    Hi All,

    Hope everyone is doing well...

I have come back to MSE after a long gap... Reading others' diaries for inspiration and also to know how everyone is doing...

Glad to see we now have a MFW street.. not applying for it though as I am more of a infrequent visitor now to MSE

I have been shopping a lot this month with all the sales and also because I am just not happy... I am missing all my friends at work as they have moved so not liking going to work at the moment but too scared to move myself. Have applied at a couple of places though so just waiting to hear from them.

So I am spending my time shopping... not good for finances but new clothes are making me feel good temporarily.

Bought lots of stuff from Debenhams sale and have also placed a order at Next for more than £300. They keep on sending stuff everyday and it feels good to try new stuff each day..

At the moment very confused about where my career is going. Have taken few days off from work to analyse and decide about what I want to do. But one thing is for sure that I don't want to stay where I am now as things are going from bad to worse at work.

The main reason for being MF was for me to have a baby and I being full time SAHM but now I am not sure if I want to do that... I am already 30 so now is the time to seriously think about this but I just am not able to decide.

I am just having trouble motivating myself.

It feels better writing it all down..

Hopefully I will feel better next time I visit MSE

    Hello MQ,

I faced a similar issue with my own career a couple of years ago - it was well paid, but I had to work 24/7 and ended up hating it. I didn't have the energy or strength to leave. Then the recession came along, I ended up getting made redundant and took the opportunity to go back to university and study to do something else. I have to say that it was a decision that was forced upon me, but even though I've a lot less money, I've never been happier...

Just go with the flow - fate often has a way of sorting things out and at 30, you're young - you've plenty of time re the baby situation..

PS - Oh yeah, and at the height of my unhappiness at work, I was spending a fortune - did you ever read my post about the £70 face-cream? :rotfl: So I understand where you're coming from on that one too..

  • Hi All,

I have almost finished the update for August. Will post it soon. This month has been a bit expensive as I have been applying for jobs and had to invest in smart suits for the interviews. Have done couple of interviews and they have gone better than expected so I may have a brand new job soon. Fingers crossed..

What this also means is that the budget etc. has gone out of the window as I haven't been home cooking a lot so mostly it's been takeaways. Neither good for the wallet nor for waistline.:o

Also got the Home Insurance renewed this month and got the Boiler Cover for the next year which was £150 but included an annual service from a Bosch Enginneer so I guess was worth it.

Next month it will be Car Insurance and MOT/ Service.
