Oh god..please help

Hello,
I recently applied for an egg loan, and was quite shocked to be rejected. Although im only 18, ive got a good job, and a contract phone thats always been paid off, as well as a capital one credit card. I only wanted £1,500, and so when i was rejected i requeted a copy of my credit report from experian.
It came today. Looking at where it says my credit history, it says that i have three credit thingys. One is with HSBC, which is satisfactory, the other with barclays. Now i also have another with barclays, saying i defaulted on 28/7/06, and this is rated 8. I would have only just turned 16 then, and while i may have had a bank account i certainly shouldnt have had an overdraft and didnt spend one. So my thought is that my mum did, because she isnt allowed a bank account (shes had financial problems before) and she probably had the card for mine. Well im guessing thats why im being rejected for credit, and i dont know what to do. I really need a loan, and i feel as if im being punished for something i definatly didnt do, but ill get kicked out if i confront my mother.

Any advice?

  • Hi I would post this again on the 'Debt Free Wannabe Board' as you may get more response there.

I don't know the answer to your question but they probably will on that board. They will also help you gain control of what money and debt you do have.

    Good luck
