Is it worth overpaying?

There are plenty of threads on here to help answer that; in purely financial terms you can just look at the interest rates for the mortgage and those related to saving the money, then derive the result. However, there are other aspects such as offsetting and your preference to reduce a debt, look only at the net position, have knowledge on whether you would "dip" into the savings for other things rather than leave untouched for the mortgage, consider the impact on means tested benefits etc etc....

You'll need to give us a little more detail to work on; but for me, with the NatWest still at 4.95% for their offset mortgage, offsetting (means I only pay interest equivalent to 1.05%) and overpaying are my preferences.
