are stores open on New Years Day ?

As per the title, can anyone confirm whether Argos are open on Thursday? as I have something reserved which I can only collect that day

I doubt that Argos will be open on New Year's Day, but you can check by going to the Store Locator page...

They're all open I think, but they are on Sunday trading hours. Check the link posted above to get yours.

Thanks both of you, I had checked the store checker thingy but saw the opening hours and just thought it was for a standard week but on closer inspection Thursday is listed as 10.00 - 17.00 which is different to every other day including sunday so I guess they have changed it to reflect New Years Day.

But any staff are welcome to confirm that

If the Argos store is independant (ie on a retail park/high street) it is likely to operate Sunday hours (give or take an hour), but if it is based in a shopping centre then it is unlikely to be open.

They may be open in your country but up here they will remain closed for that most sacred of Scottish holidays -HOGMANAY (and the usual hangovers)
