Petrol Prices - lowest for 3 years

Just thinking back to the way prices rocketed in the summer. If you had bought some back in late 07 you'd have been saving maybe 50p a litre at the peak and been immune from any disruption to supply if that fuel delivery strike and later refinery strike had worsened......
(obviously, this strategy only works with Fuel Price Inflation FPI)
You know what confused me about Mad Max? It was the fact that they all drove around in vehicles with V8 and V12 engines???? I mean if there was such a shortage of fuel surely they'd all be driving around in 1.0L Daihatsu Charades etc?0 -

They must have been running out by the third film as some of them were in land-yachts.--
Every pound less borrowed (to buy a house) is more than two pounds less to repay and more than three pounds less to earn, over the course of a typical mortgage.0 -
The commercial director from tesco was on Radio5 this morning saying they will be putting diesel down to 95p a litre in the NY. I am hoping not to need to fill up, well until tomorrow!I beep for Robins - Beep Beep

Maybe petrol stations should take a cue from some house sellers and refuse to sell their product 'for less than it is worth' (based on the peak prices of the summer). :rotfl:
Would that be a bit like the people who haven't left their house for the last 12 months because they have been waiting for the price of fuel to drop ?
Then again, they may be scared of filling up in case prices are a penny cheaper next month.US housing: it's not a bubble

Can I suggest you become friendly with your local aviation engineering company. Diesel Aircraft run on Jet-A1 fuel, so does your car, although it does smell a bit funny!
However if Jet A1 is removed from an aerplane in can't be reused for aviation, it can be put in your car though! Likewise if you befriend you friendly airfield JetA1 is about 65p litre at the moment!0 -
Or fill your suitcase of fuel when on holiday. I paid 0.62Euro a litre in Lanzarote on Sunday morning for unleaded.I beep for Robins - Beep Beep
