Should i get my house revalued?

Daft question, but would having my house revalued (we've done a considerable amount of work since we bought it) make any difference to my mortgage interest rate? And would it be worth doing?

It won't make any difference at all to your mortgage interest rate. Getting a valuation only really makes sense if you are thinking of putting the house on the market as it gives you a guide to the price you may get should you sell.

In some areas there is a slump, so a valuation may not be a true indication of what the property will fetch. Lot's of people are having to lower their asking prices considerably to attract buyers.

If you want to get an idea of what your property is worth, keep an eye on what similar properties are fetching in your road or area at http://www.nethouseprices.com/
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
