Conch

Anyone got some good recipes?

Have bought 1kg of frozen conch.

Was thinking of curry, this or other recipes would be good.

Maybe something that you'll need to Google?

Is conch something that folk use and cook regularly? It's not something that I've come across before -

must say that I've seen the shells often enough, my Gran had a couple of them in the house that my uncle had taken home from his time in the Merchant Navy - we could always hear the sound of the sea from them ;)

I've eaten it a fair bit in various Caribbean islands. Very popular.

  • Have you tried googling 'conch recipes' -it comes up with lots of stuff -fritters seem a popular recipe.

Where did you buy it btw? I'm guessing not Tesco's.

I think nessie and thriftlady's idea of searching on google is your best bet. I've done it for you:

Yes I've tried Googling, I was rather hoping somebody might be able to share their Granny's favourite recipe though, also someone who cooks with frozen conch.

The conch was purchased in Wing Yip.

In the Caribbean I have only eaten this as conch fritters. I guess just deep fry individual parts of it but look through the recipes and Im sure you will find it. Just so everyone knows its pronounced conk.
