DEcided I am going to put curtains up at patio to see if it makes any diff as that's where my pc is and I geekily spend a lot of time there!
the onvious are freecycle but the windows are quite big and doubtful if any will turn up. I know there are a few curtain exchange places about but none in my area (midlands) and the one I did phone up prices were about £150 !!! Have been looking in sales and roseby's had a pair of lined curtians for £30 which fitted but even though they were lined they wetre not thick and wondered if getting these would do anything for the keeping the heat in? the doors in question are dbl glazed patio ones but as they are big that area tends to get very cold.

I bought 90x90" cream curtains from Asda for £12 and am going to line them with smartprice fleece blankets.0

Argos, TJ Hughes, Dunelm, Wilkinsons etc for curtains and also if the curtains aren't thick enough, black out curtain liners to go with any pleated top curtains will give good insulation, and for that size will probably be c. £30.
Try Freecycle for curtains too, you never know as people do have clearouts in January. Or charity shops usually have curtains in too.

That lining with cheap fleece blankets is a great idea. If you got the ones you liked you could just stitch a blanket in between the curtain and the lining. If you're happy to do a bit of sewing, Ikea often have some nice fabrics at a ridiculously low price per metre.0
