Perhaps someone could differentiate for me the OP's intentions and the practice of human trafficking because I can't see any difference.0

Ha ha I wondered that. However if you search on iinvestor's ID you will see that he/she is a bit of a berk and entirely capable of such wnkrish behaviour.0 -

AIUI Human trafficking involves prostitution
Not always. Trafficking for prostitution is one aspect of it, but people are also trafficked to work in factories, as domestic servants etc.
The UN define trafficking as:
"(a) ' Trafficking in persons' shall mean the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harbouring or receipt of persons, by means of the threat or use of force or other forms of coercion, of abduction, of fraud, of deception, of the abuse of power or of a position of vulnerability or of the giving or receiving of payments or benefits to achieve the consent of a person having control over another person, for the purpose of exploitation. Exploitation shall include, at a minimum, the exploitation of the prostitution of others or other forms of sexual exploitation, forced labour or services, slavery or practices similar to slavery, servitude or the removal of organs;"
so you can see that it doesn't always have to involve prostitution. Quite often it does though, which is why many people associate trafficking purely with the international sex trade.0 -
i thort.... au pairs do this and you pay them a fixed sum through an agency for their help then u let them learn at colege etc free board and food... isnt that still allowed... a friend used to pay 75.00 a week to thier au pair and they did everything from cleaning to child mindng seemed to enjoy it.1. i'm bi polar.:rotfl:2. carer for two autistic sons.:A 3. have a wonderful but challenging teenage daughter. 4. have a husband that is insatiable. 5. trying to do an open degree.0

1. it is not allowed to bring people to the uk as au pair from china (and also from many other countries) according to the current immigration rules. poland, estonia, romania are ok but they have the access to free employment anyway.
2. au pair can only work upto 30 hours per week with only occasional basic cleaning/cooking tasks + 2 days off per week.
3. college courses (usually english lessons) are not cheap for the inviting family.
4. salary/pocket money is 400 euros per month (or equivalent) + room + meals (some au pairs could be fussy and demand only organic food and not cheap junk from asda).
consider just these to realise that au pair is luxury in the current climate.0 -
Valera is right about the au-pair. However, it is luxury in comparison having no help, but much cheaper then to pay Nanny.
And it is definitely better idea than to bring chinese maid for £1.50 an hour... She might get paid more then she would in china, but her outgoings would be much more here. I think paying maid £1.50 an hour is just disgusting... I have eastern european cleaner (who is also an au-pair, this is her side job) and I still pay her £7 an hour, because I am not an ANIMAL!0
