  • ok great so thats somewhere to start maxmycardagain, if he can get benefits without a fixed address as such. cheers.

Debt doctor thanks i knew nothing about that and will look into it.

Jude thanks for a heartfelt post. He does need a place to stay asap, he cant go on how he is, its terrible.
He got sleeping tablets from docs not so long ago, but thats as far as he went as he wont tell his problems to anyone, certainly not a GP. He is very down thats for sure.
With BR i assumed you needed some assets in order for them to put some money to clearing off debts  but im clueless on this lol!!
He is bright fella, great with sums n all that too, but lacking direction for things to change at mo, as feels like hes lost everything.
Retraining would probably be good idea too, then may be able to stay around similar trade?

I will go CAB with him i think and see what they advise. what should we take with us regarding debts? doubt he will have the paperwork for the old debts still. Shall we get his credit report or something? That will list debt details right?
If he manages to get his benefits up and running, than if the council cant help help then he can rent certain private properties and get help, is that right?

Thanks again, your all helping so much. I will defo keep posting let u know whats happening. xxx

    Hi,

Yes take things like statements, debt letters etc, but to be honest I think his debt situation is secondary at the moment. Lets face it with no assets, no income other than benefits, what can his creditors do ?

I would look in to the obtaining doctors sick note / benefits / and housing via council/support worker before looking at the debt issues, although I firmly believe BR is the answer to the debts.
