Bread needs a very hot oven to bake successfully.
Slow cookers are best for casseroles and stews, they are not suitable for everything.0 -
Got it! Thanks for the advice! Looks like I'll be searching for a bread machine now in the sales

I remember my mother baking bread and cakes in the slow cooker (crock pot) back in the 70's. I dug around and found a few recipes for you.Penny_Farthing wrote: »Just wondered if you can bake bread in a slow cooker and if so does anyone have any recipes:question:

Not tried bread but i did make mini syrup and chocolate puddings on xmas day, they worked out really well. It was so much better than making two big puddings as four of us like syrup puddings and one does not ,hence the chocolate one! A great hassle free way of enjoying pudding.0

Thanks Justpeyton4now, I fancy having a go at this Dilly bread from the second link you sent me. Will get ingredients tomorrow and report back. Fingers crossed!
Looking at bread machines on Argos and they all seem above my limited budget at the moment, I did laugh at the whole £1 off some of them have mind you!0 -
That recipe does look very good. There's only one ingredient in there that I'm worried about. Yeast. We just don't get along for some reason. :rotfl:Penny_Farthing wrote: »Thanks Justpeyton4now, I fancy having a go at this Dilly bread from the second link you sent me. Got to love those whole £1 off BMs! What a steal! I'm amazed Argos hasn't been bombarded by crazed bread maker shoppers.
Good luck with the dilly bread. I'll be looking for your post to tell us how it went.Take the first step.
