Help! Where is the best place to buy recliner sofas?

Hi there!
First time here. Please help! We are looking to buy 3+2+1 seater recliner sofas for our living room. Did I mention we want electric recliners? We have seen a set we like at DFS which would set us back £3000 but they provide interest free credit. I hear a lot of nightmare stories about DFS. Does anyone know how DFS are with electric recliners? Or I would be so immensely grateful if someone knows of a fantastic place to buy recliners. Your help is much appreciated. My husband and I are both stressed because we are worried about the quality of recliners at DFS and we dont want to make a £3000 mistake, if possible :embarasse

I bought my recliner from DFS in July this year and its awsome!! I was very dubious about ordering from them after some of the stories I'd heard but was really suprised. My sofa arrived on time and I'm very happy with the quality as its even more comfy than I'd imagined
Only had it 6 months but no complaints so far. The only one niggle I had was that when I phoned up to place my order the sales rep was a little pushy trying to get me to pay for various upgrades etc but this wasn't too bad, I just politely said I've made up my mind, this is what I want and I'm not interested in any extras! My old sofa was purchased from Argos and that was dreadful

i have got 2 reclineing sofa's from harveys which are fab, everyone who sits on them says how comfy they are. My mum used to work in a sofa factory stitching leather sofas and chairs, she told me that harveys are made with better quality than all the rest and dont sag when sat on after a few months
So far shes right it still looks like brand new and ive had it 15months:T started comping 2009:T0 -
I agree with Harvey's - they have got some lovely sofas on offer at the mo both manual and electric recliners - only prob is that the chairs cost almost as much!!
If you think you are too small to make a difference, try getting in bed with a mosquito!

We bought our sofas from Harveys too. We have only had them for 11 mths, but up to now, can't fault them at all. We toured all the shops and settled on harveys because the staff were less pushy, plus the recliners seemed so much better than in Land of leather.0

DFS = DOG'S FIRST SOFA ***AVOID*** go to John Lewis / Marks & Spencer, Multiyork, local skip but never ever DFS. I spent thousands on their rubbish, never ever again, Nothing to pay for a year, interest free credit all lies.My Mind wanders, if found please return.0

If you have 3 grand saved up then I wouldn't buy from DFS just because they have interest free. The sofas are ok but we got ours in May and the cushions sag already, we also had problems with the fitting of our sofa as it was a corner one. It wouldn't fit together and after some adjustment by them it fits but we have a gap where we can fit our hand down it, there really shouldn't be one...we just put up with it as we waited 4 months for our sofa in the end. I think it'll need restuffed at some point soon too.
By the best you can afford and if you can get a good deal at John Lewis, etc I would try them. Their customer service is alot better than some of the furniture stores if anything goes wrong with your sofa but I have no idea what their prices are like. If you have 3 grand to spend I'd also buy the sofa on a credit card and then pay it off straight away so you have more protection should the company go bust (I think).
I chose not to have any recliners on my sofa as I thought it was more that could go wrong with my sofa and the kids would wreck it!! I don't remember if DFS had electric recliners on theirs or not. I know two people who have bought from Land of Leather and they are happy with what they have, although one person has been told the range their sofa is from is faulty (the recliners mechanism rip the fabric from the inside) so they can get a new sofa, get the sofa fixed or get some money back.
Good luck whatever you choose!0 -
this thread is relevant to my interest and i am sensing that DFS is a no-go zone.
