RBS Paying PPI but not covered as I have illness

Hi

Called our bank today, RBS to find out how much the PPI was on our loan and found out that as I was the only one that was covered, not my hubby as only one of us could have PPI, I have been told that the PPI would not cover me as I have Crohn's Disease. This was not discussed at the time the loan was taken or if it was I would have asked as I cannot get insurance becasue of this illness.

RBS are now finding the original CA and have reduced our loan payment by £81.00 a month as cover was cancelled today.

We have had a our loan for about 3 years now.

RBS have mentioned misselling to my hubby this morning and is raising a complaint and coming back to us within 2 hours.

They are also sending out someone to see us at home as I have insurance on our motgage too!!

Can anyone advise if we may have a case to get my PPI premiums refunded?

Thanks
Julie

    Hi Julie and welcome

Blimey you have been mis sold here haven't you?

Let us know what they say hun, because this is so wrong what they have done to you.
Just tell them, even though this is cancelled, you now believe you have the right to have your loan put back in the position as if you did not have the PPI from the start, so they should refund all the PPI paid plus interest.

However if you get no joy from them I would put it into writing, check this link out here:
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance

There is some useful ppi mis selling info, plus a template letter you can use, they have 8 weeks to respond in full.
Make sure you add everything to back your case.

Good luck, please let us know hun so we can help further if required, cheers.
