in Cutting tax
OK... I was going to get an accountant to sort this out for my tax return but I cannot afford the £300 he wants so I am going to try and do it myself.
I would appreciate any help whatsoever in pointing me in the right direction....
Be gentle with me..
I went self employed in April 07 as a private hire airport driver.. I bought my car 12K and private hire insurance, council licence etc, had car signwritten, advertising expenses. I traded until November 07 when everything went a bit quiet so needed another income, I then got a temporary job in a call centre between November 07 and April 08 and paid the relevant tax and NI.
In that time I got my car relicensed and insured as a private hire vehicle. After April I went back to driving until August 08 where realising I wasnt going to make a decent enough living got a 'proper' full time job, where I am still at.
So I know I need to put in a tax S.A return for April to April but how do I factor in my full time jobs with it?
Please be gentle with me....
confused.

There are different sections within the return. You will need to fill out separate employment pages for any Paye jobs, and Self emplyment pages for sa work.0

You also need to call HMRC and let them know that you ceased being self employed in August 08. That allows them to amend your sources of income so that your final tax return from them will be for 08/09.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. The answer to your actual question is relatively straightforward. Your employment income goes on the Employment page or section. Your self-employed income goes on the Self-Employment page or section.
I get the feeling that you are currently a lot more out of your depth than that and will need quite a bit of help determining the amount of your self-employed profits or losses.
If you need further help can we start with a few basics?
Have you registered as self-employed with HMRC?
Do you actually have a 2007/08 Return for completion?
Do you have a UTR (10 digit reference number)?
What were your gross takings from April 2007 to November 2007?0
