Nokia N96 - OS won't boot

I have a Nokia N96 which has stopped booting up.
When I turn the phone on it displays a white screen for about a minute, then the Nokia logo appears. The Nokia logo then disappears and I'm left with the white screen..
I've left it like this for well over an hour and nothing happens..
Does this require a Nokia Centre visit or is there anything I can do from home?

I would have used my own initiative if someone would have told me to!

have you tried the nokia software updater?
i havn't used the nokia s/w updater before, but i think it needs the phone to be booted up to start the update0 -
The software updater wouldn't work with my phone before the problem..
So it looks like that option isn't going to work.I would have used my own initiative if someone would have told me to!0
