My turn to cook today. I'm doing steak n kidney pie.

I just discovered how to make pastry like my Mum did, I need to use lard. Actually I can't bring myself to use real lard so I use White Flora which is a bit less unhealthy but seems to have the same effect. It makes the pastry more difficult to roll but is much shorter than using butter or margarine.

My Mum was a wartime cook and no one cooked like her.

I have spent over an hour trying to build the hamsters new cage, have managed to cut my hands, break my nails then tipped the hamster food all over the floor - arrrgghhh. It better like it's new home when we put it in there later.

This is a pic of what the girls bought and then sat and watched me build lol
