Boots orders and subsequent out of stock items?

I was just having a quick look at two orders I placed on Christmas Day to see if they were moving yet, and several of the items say 'out of stock' on my order history.

Does anyone know if that means the item is out of stock to new orders, or that I won't get it? I'm near a big Boots in a few days time, and have some gift vouchers and points, so if the online stuff isn't likely to turn up I'll take the opportunity to trawl for them instore instead.

Also, if they drop things from my orders, will I loose the extra points and free delivery I qualified for?

I haven't got an answer for you, but have just checked my order that I made on 24th Dec, and 3 out of the 4 items are now showing as out of stock too. I would hope that they would reserve them at the time, so our orders should be OK, but people have had problems with M&S in similar circumstances, haven't heard any horror stories about Boots stock statuses.... yet?

Most certain you will get your items as previously when i have ordered with boots, items have gone out of stock after i have bought them, then it is stated below to let you know this item is out of stock. hope this makes sense
  • i ordered loads of stuff last year i the boots sale and more than half of it turned out to be out of stock and it was the stuff i most wanted:mad:

Thanks for your replies, sorry i haven't come back sooner.

Ended up in Boots today, but they had nothing from my orders (or my wishlist), so that wasn't a fruitful trip.

Thankfully though, one of the orders (the second one strangeley enough) has just been charged to my Paypal account as a complete order, so it looks as if at least that one will turn up. It's the one with the kids bits on, so the more important of the two anyway. Just got to wait for the other now - hope it gets fulfilled as it's loads of gadgety bits for DHs and a male cousins birthday hampers - they're hard to buy for so I was very happy to have found the bits I did.

    :)

    Kind regards,

So after spending an hour on their useless site trying to place my order, it's taken them a week to reply, and cancel the order and now I've missed out on the stuff I was after which is out of stock. Since when has incompetence been a "technical difficulty"?
  • Sorry to hear that littledutchboy. It may be worth keeping an eye on the site or your local store if there were things you wanted especially, as I have seen things come back into stock occassionally in past sales (moreso instore than online admittedly).

I have to say, assuming the parcels arrive as the website despatch details indicate, I seem to have got all the items I ordered on Christmas Day.

Hopefully there won't be too many disappointments out there.

  • hi, I made an order on Christmas Eve, received no confirmation e mail. Looked on the order history and my order was there but every single one stated out of stock. I received an e mail today to say it had been despatched and received the whole order 20 minutes ago!
