We had a Vax and we were pleased with it but then one of the rear castors snapped off and it wasn't possible to repair it so we. We've now got an Electrolux AND so far so good.0

i saw this in asda for £500

We bought a Vax a year ago with a five year guarantee. It has completely fallen apart and as we forgot to register the hoover for the extra 4 years they won't honour it. The customer service and quality is rubbish.0

I bought a Vax a couple of years ago. The piece that is contact with the carpet (attached to the nozzle) has snapped off twice. The first time we had it repaired, and it cost more than we had saved buying it cheap in the first place. Now we are using it in it's annoyingly broken state.
Sounds like they aren't made that well from everyone's comments. I won't be buying one in the future.0 -
Thanks for the replies, I think I will keep looking. I need a cylinder one as I have hardwood floors (and few rugs). Currys had the same one for £58 and it said £119 when it was new so NOT really half price in Tesco's anyway.0

we use the charles wet and dry cleaner, from the henry family of cleaners, never had any problems, parts are easy and cheap to get hold of as well. Most builders use these and they must be robust for them to use henrys, we have had ours for 6 years and never replaced anything. Although we paid £98 for it, we have had our moneys worth .0

Thanks, I think the 'Henry' is a good idea, Homebase have one for £94 and I will wait till they have a '10% off' day to get one, unless anyone knows where I could get one cheaper!0

I've only ever had Vax machines, I don't think I'd use anything else now, they're fabulous.
