Ideas for a 60th present

My DD's godmother (a really good friend of mine) is 60 in Jan. I'd like to get her something really special, but could do with some inspiration. She loves fairies. I thought maybe doing a nice hamper (did my 1st one for my Mum for xmas) with 60 items in there, but running out of ideas.

Any ideas gratefully received.
xx

For my Nan's 78th on Boxing day, the family got our heads together and everyone contributed to a bowl full of 78 tiny scrolls each with something we love about her on. Some soppy, most funny. They were in a glass bowl with pretty pink shredded tissue in and each scroll had a gold or silver ribbon around it. We then decorated the table with gold and silver stars and made her wear some huge pink heart-shaped glasses each time we read something out. We took turns reading them and she really appreciated it. We don't tend to do soppy or thoughtful things as we're a quite 'stressed' family so it was nice to spend the time doing this for my Nan.

Maybe dress her in fairy wings and get some glitter (fairy dust)!

On kodak gallery, you can upload photos and make them into a collage - these come out really well, with the black background and prices start from £1 something upwards. I bought the 10x8 £2.20 ones and they're fab. Could mix funny and nice pics of her from throughout the times you've known one another.

Maybe something home-made by your daughter? Or seeds can make a nice gift - forgetmenots or sweetpeas...

Some good ideas there... I've got just under a month so plenty of time to look around.

    Thanks x

  • My mum turned 60 this year - she forbade anyone in the family to mention it or buy cards with 60 on. She likes to shop in New Look etc. and fancies herself as trendy, so I bought her a "Miss Sixty" fashion label top off eBay. She loved it - until she noticed the label on the side (on the outside of the top) with Miss Sixty printed on it. :D
some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it :)
