Kodak Z1012 10.1MP, 12X zoom, HD photos and movies. £139.99 delivered

Play.com are doing the Kodak Easyshare Z1012 digital camera for just £139.99 at the moment, obviously it's free postage too. Many sites still list this camera at £200 and above plus postage.

Apart from it taking excellent photos which are sharp and rich in colour the beauty of this camera is that it has 12 times zoom and you can switch to HD mode to take HD photos and movies.

The camera is quite ugly to look at but it is a very good camera and at the price is a bargain. I've ordered myself one this morning.

For anyone who's interested...

I received the camera from Play.com the other day but I've not had much chance to use it yet due to work. I did take a quick photo with it tonight though, of a cheesecake. lol

Here's the photo (reduced to about a quarter of the original size).



My first impressions of the camera is that it has many advanced features and the colour seems very good, but I'm not too happy with the image quality. It may be that I need to play with the camera a bit more and get used to it, it is very different to the Fuji cameras which I usually prefer.

It's not as ugly as it looks on the site, that is a poor photo of it. It is light and I've found the controls to be well placed and easy to use. One thing I don't like is that it takes a battery pack, I much prefer a camera to take normal AAA batteries, having said that I have managed to find the battery pack on eBay for just £3.99 plus £1.99 postage so I bought three spares.

If I change my mind about the image quality when I have a little more experience with the camera then I'll pop a post in here if the camera is still on sale.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention that the price has gone up to £169.99, but that is still a good price compared to many sites who are charging over £200 in some cases.

Yeah I mentioned that in last nights post, their usual price is £199.99 so it's still reduced.

I have just found it for £154.17 delivered at MoreComputers.com

Other sites, such as Pixmania want close to £220 for it including delivery.
