Hello again,
Thanks for welcome folks !:A
Think maybe best take an inventory of what I've got in before I even think about shopping just now. Does anyone else keep a list or is that a bit too boringly complicated ? Been quite frugal for years so am a savvy shopper, tend to have an ok storecupboard and cook lots from scratch, but then can be apt to splurge at odd moments, throwing budget to wind ! Need to watch that this time !Finally Debt Free (£8k to zero) yay! :j :j
Saving for Xmas 2020 £1 a day challenge #54 £18/366

I have never fancied Greece before, but relaxing and beautiful sound like my kind of holiday:)
I have updated my Sig with my main Shop, which arrived last night - £221.57 in total. I just need to find my receipts from Somerfield and add those on too, I think it was about a fiver....
Re. bogofs, I never have much spare cash to stock up too much, but if I see good bogofs or half price offers I try and buy a few to last. I suppose it is a fine line between being greedy, and being organised and mse. PG 160's are half price at Somerfield £1.70, as I usually pay £160(ish) for 80 it makes sense for me to buy a few big boxes to save me money in the long run.....I have 3 boxes at the moment and will probably pick up another one or two, I don't think this is greedy

Just got back from MrT's and stuck to my list bar, straight to wok noddles x3 @ £2 and chow main sauce x 3 @ £1, DD likes them, well she did the other week when she stayed:rolleyes:, to say she is a fussy eater is an understatement. Total for shopping was £23.77p.
MrsM- I couldn't find any kind of dried onion, I even asked the lady at CS to check on her computer if they still did them and the computer said no, she siad they might do the crispy ones again, I was so looking forward to making c&o bread.
I got all the bits for making a quiche, I got 2 ready made cases because they looked a bit small and I don't want to waist any left over filling, so I will make them later when the elec is cheap. I was going to buy some fruit at MrT's but it all looked a bit naf, so I will wait until monday and buy some of the stall at uni.
Shelley xBack on MSE again! to take control of my finances and not let it control me. :T May grocery challenge £41.96/1400 -
Well its the end of the first week of my challenge and i'm delighted to only have spent £65.65.:T
Thats nearly £15 less than i'd budgeted for and a helluva lot less than i'd have spent before I started the Challenge:rolleyes:
I've still got plenty in the fridge/freezer/cupboard and quite a few HM ready meals for over the weekend.(been freezing leftovers all week) I'm hoping the frozen meals will stop me ringing for a takeaway on fri or sat when I fancy a break from cooking
I'm feeling really focused and have been shopping carefully so as to only buy exactly what I need to go with what I already have.
I'm also on a diet so thats helped as i've not bought any rubbish so hopefully i'll be saving £'s while i'm losing lb's
Really want to get organised and get started on meal planning too. But so far i'm doing so much better than I thought I would. I'm actually enjoying the Challenge (quite literally)How does a brown cow give white milk, when it only eats green grass?0 -

Just been to MrT and Mrs/MrC (Scottish Coop!), spent just over £20 in total and added to sig. For anyone who is interested MrC are also doing Munch Bunch yoghurts half price (I think MrT are) and Pampers Baby Wipes £1.07 per pack (slightly more expensive than MrT but as I love these I got two as a wee smell treat lol). Managed to get carrots £1 to 25p and red onions 89p to 23p in MrC and in MrT 2x conc Bold bottles (the blue one) were reduced from £3.99 to £1.99, so got 2 (there were 6 on the shelf but thought I would leave some for some other person who might need them too, as I have still got a green one left from last time when the green scent was similarly reduced). Think this is maybe just our MrT selling off a discontinued line, although keep your eyes open in the laundry aisle just in case!
Bye for now

If anyone likes Just Right breakfast cereal (it's yummy...one of my faves) it's currently down to £1.02 in Mr S. It's down to £1.04 in Mr T's too, but I couldn't find any at my last visit and it was still marked at £1.98 on the shelves. So...Mr T is 2p cheaper a box if you buy it regularly, Mr S, however, has the best offer on.
Also, bought 4 tins of tuna from Farm Foods for £2 odd and hubby reckons it's the nicest tuna he's had for ages! And it's still cheaper (marginally) than Mr T's current deal on tuna, which is less than half original price.
The internet certainly pays it's way these days, doesn't it??Drop half a stone for January challenge.
Grocery Challenge March £320/
Happiness is not in the mere possession of money; it lies in the joy of achievement, in the thrill of creative effort. (Thank you Mr Roosevelt)0 -
Re: Sausages...
I've got a MrT order coming tonight (will post amount later on sig but its around the £20 mark!) and they have all their butchers choice sausages (which I think are nice? I can't remember if we'd had them before) for £1! Will post back if the chipolatas we ordered are nice or not!
I was dead proud of the OH - he had put a load of fancy instant cappucinos, top price cereal bars, biscuits, red bulls etc in the online trolley bringing the total to £30+ (excl delivery!) then thought better of it and took them all out again without prompting!! The grocery challenge is catching! xx0 -
