Popped into Mr T after dropping DD with her Dad & just got more milk (still can’t believe how much we get through, though a little better now back at work & school), some Muller Little Stars for DD’s pack-ups (79p – currently half price) & butcher’s sausages (99p – also currently half price).
Still 1½ weeks to go & less than £15 left; but I know there are 30ish HM meal portions in the freezer as well as enough meat for another 30ish, so plenty of dinners in. Should just be odd bits now (famous last words …)
I like to put 1 fresh fruit & 1 dried fruit portion in DD’s pack up but she doesn’t like currants/sultanas/raisins. Tried dried apricots & got a rather cheeky response along the lines of ‘Nice try Mum, but don’t do it again’! She wants fruit flakes or fruit strings, but I don’t want to buy those both for the price and the processing. I have downloaded some recipes for fruit leathers & jerkies to try. Anyone got any other ideas? Thanks v much.0 -

I should have gone shopping but the bad weather kept me in, so I just nade what I could, instead. It was my first attempt at baking chocolate sponge without eggs and I was surprised at how it tasted - no different! :j
Half of it's gone already, as DS scoffed it and then we had some with custard after dinner tonight. Also baked a loaf and a couple dozen small rolls, so this should keep me out of the shops until Monday, possibly longer if I do soup & pudding lunches rather than sandwiches. :TI reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Have DN2 staying with us and consequently I am going through milk like billy o, so have had to make two visits to Mr A over the last two days. Got bread and baking apples, so DN2 made lovely apple crumble which was scrummy. Signature updated.I got there - I'm debt free and intend to stay that way. If I haven't got the cash, it doesn't get bought. It's as simple as that.0
