I have some sausages left over and was wondering if I could add them to a tom based sauce in my slow cooker?
Will it make me ill? or should i cook them first?
Thanks

Long as you cook them for long enough in the SC you'll be fine. Browning them off first might make them look a little more appealing tho."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0

I have cooked them from raw before in the SC. I did find though that there was a layer of fat on the top of the casarole-these were good quality sausages too. Tasted OK, but wouldnt do again:D

they'll cook through no bother, just put them in raw, they'll be fine
one of the things I make most in my SC is sausage casserole & I only brown them first if I've lots of time0 -
Some people here have been known to put frozen sausages in the SC in the morning and they assure us they have suffered no ill effects
As long as they have long enough to cook through, they will be fine. As I usually have time, I brown mine, but purely from an asthetic point of view. I have bunged them in unbrowned and they were fine (although I prefer a bit of colour on mine)0 -
when I do brown mine, I do them on my George Foreman grill. it not only gets rid of any excess fat, but has the added bonus of producing a very visually pleasing stripey sausage casserole0
