hi- im a non driver too, and its much harder to do economical shopping (in my opinion) when you have to cart everything home on the bus. Saying that, I still only spend about £20-25 per week.
If you have a cat I would strongly recommend pet insurance - I know you've probably heard it all before, but I worked in a vets for 8 years, and have had numerous pets, and i really believe that NOT having pet insurance is false economy- you're 3 times more likely to claim for your pet, than for your car or house!!
Sorry to rant on!!I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

That's good then because I got insurance for my little kitty when he was 8 weeks old... so far he's managed to stay in one piece!!
I guess I'll see how I go with the shopping, my slow cooker is amazing for making loads of food in one go so as long as I have a freezer I should be ok...0 -
Hi MissMuppet,
I'm sorry to hear that you have split up, but I hope it will be a whole new start for you. While searching for something else today I came across this old thread and thought it might be helpful to you. Moneysaving Meals for one
Good luck with finding somewhere new to live.

I get fresh vegetables delivered each week, slightly more expensive than the supermarket, but then I don't have to go more than once a month, can get fresh stuff at a smaller shop near the hosue. Not going to a big supermarket often is my way of avoiding impulse buying of things that 'look nice'. Better self control is probably the best solution, but i'm trying!:happyhear0
