The Touch HD is now available on Orange and O2 it seems and at the moment you can get 5 months half price ...

You can also get it sim-free for a reasonable price
Hope this helps anyone who's looking for a new phone / upgrade

The above is a collection of referral links
See:

I just got two of these phones as upgrades. Top banana. Much better than the iPhone - especially when you link to Exchange for mail / calendar / contacts.
Also works with https://www.mesh.com - drop a file into the Live Mesh folder on your PC and it syncs over the air to your phone!
http://www.quidco.com/onestopphoneshop/ (£37.50 Quidco) is also worth checking out0 -
Apparently there has been a high rate of returns of the HD because of poor battery and camera:

Also, sometimes the screen stops responding for about 3 to 5 seconds but there is a fix:

{link removed as I'm not a fan of "bulk" referring links}

The deals on this phone will be extremely limited as it is so new to market and currently is the top spec HTC. I would exercise extreme caution regarding "cashback by claim" discounts on line rental as these are paid for by the vendor and not the phone company. Should a firm go tits up (as did Mobile Media & affiliates this year) you will see none of the discount and the operator will not supply the cashback as it is nothing to do with them. The biggest discounter in the link above is a company I have not heard of. Personally if it is a cashback deal I wouldn't consider entering into it unless it is of a very known entity, like the Carphone Warehouse as they are less likely to impose stupid claim criteria that is designed to make it difficult for you to validate your cashback claim, also they might still be around in 12months time...indiekiduk wrote: »Apparently there has been a high rate of returns of the HD because of poor battery and camera:

Your own link dispels it's own rumour: http://msmobiles.com/f/viewtopic.php?t=22153
and as you post, the second issue is resolved with a hotfix.
No problems with the HD then.0 -
I've used HTC phones for years. Had very few problems and wouldn't go with anything else.
Good phone.0 -

Good phone.
Oh I should of said - I echo the above.
Currently I have a Touch Diamond for personal and an S710 for business. Previously I have had the Touch, S730 and P4350. All have been brilliant with the possible exception of the battery life on the S730. I however have mail push and bluetooth permanantly active.
I really hope that, like cigarettes, in 20-30 years time we don't find out that these things really are bad for your health....!! :rolleyes:0 -
I've had the phone for about a month now on T-mobile, its a very good phone with a few bugs that will no doubt get ironed out soon by HTC. I'm new to windows mobile so am still learning all about many of the features but all in all its a good phone and probably better than the I-phone if u dont like crappy I-tunes software etc. I dont use the camera much since I have a 12 mega pixel camera that I use for photos but it would suffice if a photo opportunity arose while I was out. Surfing is pretty good on it and email is very good too.0

Have had this phone on Orange for a month, cracking phone, so much better than Nokia N95 it replaced. Yes to be totally honest the camera is not as good as N95 or others, but that's it. In EVERY other category this phone is stunning. Just put it next to an iPhone and you wonder why anyone would want that fuzzy old thing from Apple.
THANKS FOR THE HOTFIX LINK!0 -

I've got the Diamond too (mail push and bluetooth always on also). I actually prefer my old Touch Dual to be honest. Will be changing again in the Spring I think.0 -
As long as a phone makes and receives phone calls, it does what it's supposed to - don't need a camera! :rotfl:Have had this phone on Orange for a month, cracking phone, so much better than Nokia N95 it replaced.
