ALL SAINTS - what happened in the sale?!

Hello one and all!
A weird thing happened with the All Saints sale - The sale started in many of the shops and online offering 30% off EVERYTHING and free delivery.
I fancied a suit wanted to try them on first and only expected the sale to get better after Christmas Day! Well... it did - the reductions rose to up to 50% online however this was not on EVERYTHING... in fact there's only a small percentage of stuff reduced at all now.
Having just laid out on a £200 gift card I just wondered if the was anybody in the know on whether the prices would drop again??
Thanks a lot in advance for any help.

It's simple, they can legally advertise a sale of 50%, which sounds better than 30%, while not actually providing a "proper" sale.
Its what retailers do. People are expecting amazing saving now xmas is over, so the retailers in their brilliance decide that consumer expectations are so high, sheepple won't even think about buying the tat they can't sell during non-peak seasons, because they are so engrossed by the need of not missing out on the "bargains".
And then they go cry to the government for our taxes when they face difficulties.0 -
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. I'm not disputing the methods of their sale, I'm simply after some inside info as to the strategy ahead, i.e. slashing ALL prices again come the middle of Jan?0

If you look closely at all the sale signs they currently state upto 50 / 60% and people rush in and expect 60% but only get like 20 or 30...
Strategy is basically if it’s a limited item and you desperately want it then 20- 30 % off is ok with you then buy it.
However year on year I have noticed come boxing day all the shops start the sale with this great hoo-ha that the sales are upto 30% and everybody rushes out and gets disappointed. If you wait till the first week of Jan 09 they will knock another 20% off the sales and will continue with a weekly 10-20% till end of Jan when they will practically start giving stuff away since they need to clear out last years items for the new stock.
As above if you don't desperately need an item and can wait till the prices drop further then go ahead, however this really on works for stores with multiple branches....
if its just a small boutique, or you are an odd size in shoes, shirts etc and / or its a rare item then just buy it now or you will miss out on it.
So yes sales prices will definitely continue to drop.....:T Just remeber sales don't end till 31st Jan 09....0 -
Cheers for that DIDI - I understand the sale principles. Just thought it was weird that All Saints had such big reductions up till Christmas Day then put the majority back up to normal price on Boxing Day! Just seemed a bit backwards!
Fingers crossed they start to drop again in Jan...and they still have my size suit!
Any All Saints web employees out there?!?.... :P0 -

Yup, agree with you here- all the stores work like this- usually the best stuff goes by the 30th december when most things with a decent reduction have been bought/returned and rebought, then there is not so much left.
I then see it as a game: who will blink first:rotfl: I wait and wait through the reductions and reductions, the buy-one-get-ne-free offers until.... Final Reduction labels appear in the store windows. Then I shop again.
All stores that have a sale will at one point have a "final reduction" sign, I have yet to not see a store do this. Its just a waiting game for this. I have to try hard though, to keep myself well out of the shops- its the only time in the year I value my gym membership, it stops me shopping!:T0
