Just read that argos will return items without a receipt if they have a catalouge code on the item. Well my daughter was bought a my little pony icecream van for christmas. She already has it and we were going to try exchange it. Ive looked on the box and there is NO item number and we dont have the receipt. It was defo purchased from argos as we only have 2 shops that sells toys in town!!
Ive looked online for a price to see what else she can get but its not there either!?!? HELP!!

Unfortunately, without a reciept or a cat number on the box there's not a lot they can do.
How did you pay for the original one? If you paid by card and have the bank statement they may refund you.0 -
it was bought by my bil who works in nigeria!! No chance of a bank statement etc for atleast 6-8 weeks:xmastree: :rudolf: :xmastree:0

No catalogue number at all??
###/####
or ###-####
It may be hidden somewhere on the box! Was it shrink wrapped by chance?
Of course, some gift buyers take off the label with the cat number so that the recipient can't identify it in the catalogue and see the price of the item.[DISCLAIMER: Any posts made by myself are my opinions and do not represent my employer]

You could try taking it back, no real harm in trying, but they may well say no. Telephone them first to see if they will and save you a journey, the number is:
0845 1657 ### (replace the ### with your local 3 digit store number)
If your store is newer and has a 4 digit number (e.g. Leigh Parsonage Retail Park is 4139) you will need to go on th'Argos website to find it.
Hope this helps.[DISCLAIMER: Any posts made by myself are my opinions and do not represent my employer]

You can down load a statement at any time.
If its your bil's statement he could scan it and email it to youmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
