I bought one of those clip on the rim toilet cleaners. Not the block type but the new liquid ones where you snap a bottle of cleaner into the basket jobby. It smells lovely and keeps the toilet very clean, but I notice today, that it has run out and I only put it in last week. It probably has saomething to do with my 5 yr old liking to see it working and has been working double shifts all week as toilet monitor.
(We live in the country and this passes for entertainment) hehehe. It's working out to be very expensive entertainment at this rate so i've had a bit of an experiment:
1. Take the bottle out of the basket. (Needs a good tug)
2. Fill bottle with el cheapo toilet cleaner. I'm using Tesco value pine.
3. Keeping the bottle upright put the basket back on the bottle and click home.
4. Put back on the rim and flush.
Yay! After a few trial flushes I declair it's a success and much cheaper than the refills.
Just need to find a method of calming my 5yr old down when he comes home and finds the colour has changed from orange to green!

One of my children used to have a habit of flushing the loo, one day the loo had a blockage and over flowed, when we unblocked it, it was the clip on rim cleaner!!!! Use a block in the cistern now, just to be on the safe side!!!! Would be interesting if anyone has any good OS suggestions on the cistern blocks.

That is actually what puts me off the clip on rim cleaners. Don't fancy a plumbers bill.:(0

Oooooh! What a good idea! I presume you mean the Toilet Duck types? That will save me loads of money! I pay at the moment about £1.80 for a double re-fill pack, which lasts about 5 weeks between 2 loos.
Well done you! :TNew year, no debt! Debt free date - 02/01/07 :j :j :j0
