Really pleased with how my first challenge is going. I just found 34p (every little helps) did some shopping with Sainsbury;s rewards £12.50 and saved £36 on a birthday present so that moves my total up from £52 to £100.84p. The present was a real bargain, my DS wanted an espresso coffee maker for his birthday in a few weeks. Real nightmare in my house as I have already had DD birthday since Christmas. Normally means hitting the credit cards but as I have been reading the tips for a few months I actually have some money left, not much and will be a bit tight till payday but better than usual. Anyway was away for the weekend and popped into an Aldi (don't have one locally) and saw a lovely espresso machine, just what he wanted for £34 cheapest I had seen was £70 so a saving of £36 and I had the cash to pay for it. Looking good for the New Year.

  • I'm really pleased with how mine's going too! Got my wages from 2nd job yesterday and found I'd been paid an extra £10 on top of normal wages for working New Years Day, which I wasn't expecting - quite happy with that!

Also, our local paper had a coupon for a free bet on our football team in the FA cup - I've never put a bet on in my life, but thought of this thread and had a go...and I won £8 :D Yay! Off to update signature now...

Been doing free scratchcards and am starting free clicks tomorrow (thankyou so much to EagerLearner for sending me the guide!), but am not counting anything like that until it hits my bank account. Hopefully will set me up nicely for Feb challenge!

Keep it up everyone, sounds like it's going to be a fab month if we all keep this up!

Attempting to pay off our debts! Balances Jan 2018 -
    Family member £3,700 - Virgin CC £1,000 - MBNA £1,700 - Barclaycard £2,500 (was £2,700) - Halifax CC £1,280

At last made some progress - did a dog training class and made £50. Also have some matched betting profits lining up to come in so feeling like things are getting going now!

These postings sound like a good idea for an incentive to make a little extra l will start with £5.00 a day for Jan but may up the anti for the rest of the year. Will have to get going and make up the lost days.
