The DMC-FZ3´s LEICA DC VARIO-ELMARIT lens is small and lightweight yet delivers the same zoom power as a big, heavy 400 mm-class lens
While maintaining the superb performance inside, we´ve made this new, gently rounded body slightly smaller than the FZ2. This easy-to-hold form fits the contour of your hand to give you a steady and comfortable grip.

Excellent camera but now replaced by the FZ5 5megapixel version.

FWIW there is a long thread about this camera when Photo Optix were selling it for a similar price nearly a year ago:

I picked one up at that time and IMHO it's an excellent camera. Only slightly let down by "noisy" photos when lighting is poor, and a flash that doesn't throttle back when photoing close objects (has a habit of flooding people with too much light washing out all of their features).

The 12x zoom WITH stabiliser though is EXCELLENT and has produced many a fine shot over the last few months that other cameras wouldn't have got near.

You can turn the Flash output down with a quick fiddle of the toggle switch. I have mine down '1 and 2/3' most of the time anyway as I get better results.
