Stuff it, every time I try and check out another thing goes out of stock so I've cancelled the whole lot. Didn't want any of it anyway :(

for the last 3 years I've bought 80% of my wardrobe on this day at M&S online. Every time I've had stock problems but I continued to do it get the bargains.

Looks like this year I won't have to spend hours on the site only to get a few items because there is less in my size. Also, no discount codes or free delivery under 150. You could put all your orders together to save on delivery but the problem with M&S is if you put everything in one order and one item happens to be out of stock, your whole order could get cancelled several weeks later.

I'm going to go head to head with customers instore this year. The gf also thinks my M&S shoes are not stylish.... oh dear.

If anyone is going to run the risk with M&S, as I said above make sure you keep your orders small. Do as many as you like though.

I've had M&S order in April, which was ordered on Christmas Day. I've also seen orders slip week by week in ETA just because 1 of the 11 items in the order was out of stock. Just because of one item the whole order never made it.

M&S uses the Amazon e-commerce platform which is great but with one fundamental difference. The stock levels are not updated as often, infact its every 15 mins. It means if they have 100 of one item in stock, and 100 of them go in under15 mins, then some customers may order and think they have got an item but haven't. Just to top it off they wont tell you for weeks (months in my case) after that its now out of stock. Remember this is a national site and Christmas Day is their biggest sale so its highly likely.

Thats why its important to keep orders small, good luck.

Well I've risked it but only ordered a few things as was stung really badly in the sale last year and it took ages to sort out.

Had to stay up to sort out the stockings etc etc.

    Fingers crossed

    Happy Christmas xxx

any free delivery codes for m&s
  • I have a question; I ordered one lingerie set (bra and shorts), but it now says out of stock. Let's say just the bra is out of stock, how will I knowand will I get a chance to cancel before the order is sent? I don't want to end up paying £3.50 postage for a pair of shorts I only ordered to go with the bra which won't ever come, if you see what I mean? Thanks in advance for any help offered.

I'm querying them about the £3.50 postage. They sent me a 'welcome to M and S' email earlier today with the code 'freedelv' which clearly states 'free over £30'

    No harm in trying

Excellent service provided by M and S. They already answered my earlier email.

  • I received the free delivery over £30 email too so I'll drop them a line.

They did give me a £5 off 'voucher' when I complained about items vanishing from the basket/not having the option to buy before things disappear. Will know what to expect next year.
  • I struggle to shop on line, does anyone know when the sale starts in store?

Is it boxing day or the next day?

    Thanks
  • With the free delivery being over £150 I only split my order into 2 this time to take advantage it and was a little worried doing that as I have been splitting it up on sale days to about 6 orders and have had no trouble doing it this way and have received everything I had ordered. However, I have just checked my account and it says order 1 to be dispatched soon and order 2 to be split into 2 deliveries with 8 items to be dispatched soon and the other one is also showing dispatching soon. I do hope they are right.
