ASOS Delivery of Incorrect Items - WATCH OUT !

I ordered delivery of 3 tops from ASOS on Monday with next day delivery. The items arrived today (2 days later), however they have sent an incorrect item. On trying to contact them, its only by email and the response was "send the wrong item back and if the item I should have got is still in stock then they will send that to me."
As it is a sale item and also with the festive posting it is unlikely the item will be in stock. This was a Christmas present so someone is going to be very unhappy at receiving the wrong item.
There is no way of contacting them by phone and you are at the mercy of email communication, perhaps an email to their MD or CEO will help which will be my next step should I not get a satisfactory response to my third email I sent 20 minutes ago, even offering to pay for the item which had not been sent again until I can return the item they sent incorrectly.
Watch out when ordering with ASOS, especially in sale time when items sell out quickly and if they send the wrong item - they never said whether the product description or code matched the item or not which caused the problem or else someones incompetency.

I ordered a pair of boots from them once and only realised about a month later that they had sent me two left feet!
Unfortunately it was out of stock so they couldn't promise me anything but 'somehow' they found a spare pair in my size and sent that to me after I'd sent the other pair using a Freepost label they e-mailed me.
Are you a member of their facebook? I remember seeing people posting complaints and a representative helped them get it resolved. May be worth posting there as well as e-mailing them?0
