Xmas eve 24/12/08 What small dfw things have you done today???

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D
Today I will:
- check online banking
- move some cash into savings
- update spreadsheets
- make a loaf in breadmaker
- put some coins in sealed pot
- cook another huge xmas meal for oldies and eat for free - won't need any lunch or tea at home today.
- Be very sparkly.
- finish work for a weeks holidays tonight:j :j :j
Sending hugs to anyone feeling down or full of the lurgy, hope you feel better soon. Hi to all the regulars:santa2: :santa2: and welcome to any newbies:D

I have checked to online accounts, put a load of washing in & a load in tumble dryer (not DFW, but needed!) Will be making bacon butties too. YUM!
Will be rewashing the towels that DS spilt yogurt on, they came off line last night & were going into dryer overnight!
Will travel to give out Christmas presents for friends & relatives.
Will send DS off to spend Christmas with his dad, with a smile, even though I dont feel like smiling!
Will spend the evening in front of telly, possibly DVD`s looking at state of telly, with a bottle of something & a box of chocs.
Tomorrow, I will be eating my lunch at mothers - steak & chips, only the two of us so don`t a huge turkey & trimmings, that will be New Years Day whe we all together!!Living debt free, since Sept 08 & Dec 10 :wall:

I'll be here too as my OH is working nights tonight at hospital and won't be home until around 8:30 am,:D0 -
Paid another £1 to GMCard. Being more frugal with gas and electric. No major saving theree as I am usually reasonably careful anyway but I want to reduce usage still further. Don't want to get political but I wonder how the govt. can justify retaining the 5% VAT on domestic fuel.0

A DCA has sent us the CCA that we requested...we thought they would have been nice and wrote of the debt for Christmas...Scrooges!:D
Paid off the credit card today for the last couple of pressies I bought of Amazon a couple of weeks ago. Brings the balance to zero which is always good.
The main thing I'm doing today is staying away from town. I will not be tempted by all the "fake sales" that are around at the moment. Wait for the clearances in mid-January...THAT'S where the bargains are!!Please continue to hold the line. Your call is very important to us and will be answered by next available robot...0 -
Morning guys,
As a newbie, today I will be trying for a second NSD - wish me luck!
Have already taken one wash load out to dry - no tumble dryers. That's about it for me, already working and should be until at least 4pm or so......
Have a lovely Xmas Eve everyone xxNo spend days for March = 3Money to joint savings 2009 = £100.00Money to personal savings 2009 = £0.000 -
Morning all, DH gone off to work and the dog managed to sneak under our bed so woke up to the sound of a snoring beagle (I'm partially deaf so she must have been loud). All four off springs (18/16/13 & 9)still sleeping but already I have -
emptied the dishwasher
Chicken in SC (cheaper than a turkey)
Breadmaker on
Washed up the dishes left on the worktop overnight by my lovely family who obviously decided to leave their assorted cups/plates/dishes for the washing up fairy (that's me)
Plus painted my nails whilst on here and drinking a cup of tea (multi tasking)guess that's all the me time I'll get today
Once the off springs are awake it will be the usual madness as they all get wired up to their various pc/ds/xbox/msn devices it's like living with the borg:rotfl:
Happy Christmas Everyone
I just hope my 9 year old doesn;t want to bake again we are disappearing under mince pies, star cookies, xmas cake, scones and choc bombs. I know it's all very OS but our family just consists of the 6 of us and we are can't eat 'em fast enough (although they are yummy).Panda on My Shoulder
If you can make it cheaper do so. If it's not reduced, in Primark, off ebay or free I can't have it :rotfl:0 -
Good Morning All,
Today I've made some bread.
Got washing on 30 and will dry on airers.
Made Xmas Crackers - Got the kit for 50p last week as the box was damaged (put a couple of sweeties inside).
Checked online banking
Done free scratchcard and a couple of surveys
Found the gift I'd got for my neice, I'd put it in a safe place, the one that I can rarely find :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Will be a NSD too :T
I've been up since 4.30am, that's why I've already done so much, maybe an early night for me.
Have a great day everyone.I won't buy it if I can make or borrow it instead

NSD - one of the perks of living in a village
Do some more washing, just little bits though and then onto airers
Quick tidy of the house, dusting etc
Wrap last few pressies
Checked online banking to make sure OH got paid early as is paid on Friday - success
OH home about 1pm today, he finishes at 12pm and then is off until 5th Jan, so that will be nice as i am off at the moment (school job)
Turkey defrosting in sink full of water - OH was sure it would be okay if we took it out of the freezer this morning, i was sure it needed taking out last night and i was right. 24-30 hours it takes if in cold water, longer if not.
Hope everyone has a lovely xmasMummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160
