I am going kill someone from my work!

I took holidays from the 22nd Nov - 19th of Dec
Then maternity leave started the 20th of Dec.

So was due to be paid 64 hours of Holiday pay as our cut off date is the 21st of the month and my maternity pay is Via MA and not SMP.

So... They have only paid me 32 hours!!!

!!!!!!!!! and they paid it early! I know this is due to xmas but even then the xmas cut off was the 19th so that would have mean I would still have been in for the cut off period with my 64 hours and if .. then maybe 4 hours would have been sent to next months wage...

I am fuming beyond belief!!

And I only noticed just now as its sent via e-mail to me.

I assume they will pay the remaining 32 hours next month?
Although I'm sure it would be very handy to have the money this month, is it essential that you receive it this month?

If you spoke to your employer about it (in a calm way), perhaps they would be able to make some arrangements? I guess its worth being mindful that many organisations are currently having liquidity issues and therefore may be pushing themselves when paying salaries etc.

Hope it all works out okay anyway.

well I went to my work today,
was all calm! No seriously I was...

after 2 hours of them speaking to the area manager, regional manager, payroll manager, my manager (who was off) and payroll again. They have admitted that the supervisor in my store made a mistake and should have put me through for 64 hours as I am now on maternity leave.
So they are going to authorise payment for the other 32 hours on Monday and payment will be there on wednesday!

holiday pay is barely enough to cover me until my Maternity Allowance kicks in ...
