I so don't want my roast beef and yorkies now. Boiled ham and pease pudden would go down a treat right now!:hello:

I do the same as Pink-winged and others except for the glaze - and that depends on what I find in the cupboard.
a couple of ones which went down well are -
Orange marmalade with slices of orange arranged artistically on top of the glaze .
Honey
Honey and demarara sugar
Cranberry jelly (Half jar left over from christmas) - surprisingly nice.
dont try strawberry jam - doesnt tast as nice as you would think! its wayyyyyyyyyy too sweet!
I never put the glazed ham in for more than 8 - 10 mins without checking it - then I hover around like a DFS salesman scenting a sale! it can go from perfect to burning madly in less than a minute!0 -
I've mixed homemade cranberry chutney with sweet chilli sauce and a little sugar, then glaze boiled ham and roast its gorgeous! I got the idea from uktv food http://uktv.co.uk/food/recipe/aid/610357 and made it for boxing day a few years back for a big crowd, was soooo good! The leftovers were great too made into a macaroni cheese. You can of course use regular cranberry jelly/ sauce!I love food, hate waste and have a penchant for sparkly things ::D
Trying to find a work life balance...:rotfl:0 -
Had a quick scoot through the recipes but I'm a bit useless at finding things on here.
I've got a small gammon joint for tea that I've decided to bake rather than boil, but I want to do something a bit more interesting with it that doesn't involve covering it in a proper sauce.
Are there any easy glazes that don't involve mustard? I've got honey but that doesn't seem enough on its own, and I've got all the usual store cupboard stuff. No orange juice though, which is the only other thing that came to mind.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Throw whatever you want into a saucepan. Start with sugar and vinegar or wine or cider. Add some spices whatever you have...cloves, garlic, anything really maybe some salt and pepper. Heat up then add the honey.:footie:

Honey glazed is fairly traditional. I'd stud it with cloves then cover it with honey mixed with any seasonings you fancy, and baste regularly while it cooks.Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0

Score the skin into squares
Baste in Honey, Grain Mustard and a good[STRIKE] quart[/STRIKE] splosh of Rum.
Put in oven, cook.
Add two eggs and chips and wash down with a quart of wobbleade.0 -
Yep, the chips are definitely on the menu as well. Was going to be slightly healthier with cauliflower cheese, then thought sod it and reached for the chip pan.
